The Clinic
within the Clinic.
The proposal is developed on the second floor of the existing diagnostic center “B Diagnosis” in Patras. The existing building, with spaces originally designed in the 1990s, offers limited flexibility for the interior design of the new clinic.
Interventional Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging techniques to guide minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Based on these principles, the design focuses on the integration of wood — a natural, warm material that helps create a more welcoming and less “clinical” atmosphere. This approach aims to reduce patient stress, as spaces where interventional procedures take place are often perceived as cold, sterile, and anxiety-inducing.
01. The Material
the visual and tactile interaction with this natural material establishes an indirect connection to the external environment, positively influencing the patients’ psychology and mood.
white walls are widely used in medical environments, as the color is directly associated with sterility, cleanliness, and disinfection.
— fundamental qualities that foster a sense of safety and trust for the patient.
